time out review

"Corrigan's is an "institution" on Thousand Oaks Boulevard. It is reminiscent of Chez Jay's in Santa Monica -- a local, kind of dumpy (or idiosyncratic), out-of-the-way place, where the steaks, ribs, seafood (especially the salmon) are delicious, generous in portion, and reasonably priced. Chez Jay has had its fill of stars and the famous, while Corrigan's main star is the son of B Western movies' Ray "Crash" Corrigan, who wears his signature 10-gallon hat and barks orders at his crew. Oh yes, and maybe Heather Locklear once in a blue moon. My husband and I, before retirement, would go there for dinner at least once a week. As stated previously, the dinners are excellent; there are specials of the day; and the drinks are delivered in large whiskey glasses. But the best of Corrigan's is their waiter, Ulysses. While English is his second language, he knows the menu upside down and inside out; makes every small detail in dining an essential part of his job, and ensures a pleasurable experience. We have had many waitresses at Corrigan's; have seen them stay for a couple of months and leave. Ulysses is loyal to the restaurant even with a decline in patronage over the years."

"We took some out of town business partners for dinner. We had prime rib, baked potatoes all the dressings! This was one of the best steak dinners I have ever had. Service was fast, the waiter had all the nights specials memorized. Very impressive. Looking forward to going back. Thanks Tom"

"The steak was done well, especially considering I hadn't gotten any premium cuts. The portions were good, and the breakfast came with these potatoes that were like English fries sliced up. Everything tasted very good, although not like the greatest thing I ever tasted. It's worth going to as long as you're not looking for something bright and cheery."

"This place is a TO staple. It's been here FOREVER. It is kind of a random place but I love it for the western vibe that the original owner has left behind. If you live in this area, please check this place out at least once. The owner was a stunt actor back in the 20s and there are cool photos of him and other actors all over. Don't get distracted or turned off when you first walk in by the bleh bar or the people sitting there having drinks. It's an older, not hip or hot crowd.

Just keep walking until you get seated in the main dining area. We all got steaks that were cooked well and were juicy. The best part was the potatoes that came with our meals. The potatoes came with all the fixings in these little super cute containers. I LOVED IT. It was the best potato presentation I have seen. The beans that also came with our meal were delicious."

"I went around 11am and they were not too busy. The place is clean and service quick. I had the eggs and ham. Eggs cook perfect over medium. The potatoes are good. My friend had two Irish Coffees which he liked. I was driving so had a Cola. The place is full of old western TV show and movie memorabilia. Many pictures of actors and actresses from the Westerns. Nice to see. I've never been here for dinner, but I recommend a visit during the day. Only disappointment is no after dinner mint."

"I was actually pleasantly surprised with this place. The decor is a little out there, but if you're into old westerns than this is right up your alley. The food was good and the portion sizes were very generous. We had a large group from work and the staff was extremely friendly and made sure that everyone was taken care of."
